His background combines hands-on emergency service with IT operations and cybersecurity. That shapes how MiPi approaches a station display, a paging connection, or a troubleshooting call: understand the practical problem, explain the options, and work through the setup.
Meet the team
Matt Ireland: Founder
Matt has served in volunteer fire departments since 1992, as an EMT since 2002, as a reserve sheriff’s deputy since 2011, and as a medicolegal death investigator since 2022. His technology career includes desktop and server support, networking, messaging, IT leadership, and cybersecurity leadership.
Raised in a family of public servants, Matt learned early the value of showing up for others. Becoming an Eagle Scout strengthened that commitment, a spirit of service that continues to guide MiPi today.
Austin: Hardware Build & Deployment
Austin brings that same commitment to the MiPi team. A volunteer firefighter and Eagle Scout, he helps build and deploy MiPi hardware, turning the team’s technical work into equipment ready for station life.
Together, Matt and Austin bring a shared understanding of service and a practical, hands-on approach to helping the people who answer the call.
